Award-winning designer Lloyd Long knows that more than a pencil or ruler, being a good listener is the most important tool in a designer’s toolbox. Without it, the design goes nowhere. With it, a designer is able to translate the information he’s heard into a space that’s a functional and artistic creation.
Lloyd started in the industry as a carpenter, with experience as a general remodeler, trim and framing carpenter and kitchen installer. The hands on experience he gained from these years of service have proven to be a valuable asset in his career as a kitchen and bath designer. This experience has given him the ability to create designs that will be structurally sound, improves his on site communication with carpenters and tradesman and allows him to better foresee any complications that may arise on a project. In addition, his designs are created with consideration to how things will be put together in the real world. This insures that what you see on paper can be produced on the site, and the installation process will be planned out to the last detail.
Just as he combined his love for the technical & the artistic in college, majoring in math and art, Lloyd paired his practical knowledge of construction with the artistry of design 21 years ago. Lloyd’s dedication to education and industry ethics and guidelines meets with a commitment to staying in the know about the latest trends and product innovations
